Latex Male External Catheters (Urinary Sheaths)

A male external catheter — also called a urinary sheath, condom catheter, penile sheath, uridome or Texas catheter — is a non-invasive way to manage male urinary incontinence. It rolls on like a condom and connects to a catheter leg bag or night bag.

Available sizes

25mm – for a measured diameter of 20–24mm
30mm – for a measured diameter of 25–30mm
35mm – for a measured diameter of 31–34mm

Each size is available as a single sample pack, a 5 piece weekly pack or a 30 piece monthly pack.

How to choose the right size

Measure the diameter of the shaft at its widest point, roughly halfway along, and choose the size band your measurement falls into. A sheath that is too large will leak or slip off; one that is too small will feel tight and uncomfortable. If you are between sizes, or the sheath keeps coming off, speak to your continence nurse.

How to apply

Very easy to use and change. Suitable for use after surgery, including prostate surgery.

Wash your penis using soap and water. Rinse and dry your penis carefully. If you have adhesive protector or alcohol wipes it is helpful.
You may want to clip the hair or even shave the area near the base of your penis. Removing hair from this area will keep it from being caught in the condom.
Gently roll the catheter over the penis like a condom.
Connect the condom catheter to the tube of the urine bag.
Make sure the condom is not twisted where it attaches to the catheter.
Use a new condom catheter every day.
Wash your hands and penis with soap and water before and after doing care.

Single use only. Use each sheath once and fit a new one daily.
